Life goes on
Thursday, November 30th, 2006It is now Thursday morning and this afternoon and evening we’ll be sitting shiva again and hosting more friends and relatives here at home. Last night we saw more friends of the family, some of whom Scott and I have not seen in over thirty years. What a nice feeling!
Yesterday I took my brother and my cousin Barb to visit the graves of our Father’s parents, our grandparents, Harry and Marie Goodman.
It was really great to connect more with our past and the lives of our ancestors.
Barb brought some papers from her Dad – my Dad’s brother, our Uncle Gilbert – who had, over a period of years jotted down some remembrances and bits of family history. Later today I’ll scan them so we will all have a copy.
I also plan to make some tours around Detroit to take photos of the houses where we used to live, where our grandparents lived, the house where my Mom grew up, etc.
