I’m Steve Goodman. Retired marketing professional. Amateur guitarist. Habitual listener. Occasional photographer. Late to the AI party, but making up for lost time.

I spent a long career in marketing — long enough to develop strong opinions about words, audiences, and the particular fatigue that sets in when you’ve said too much about too little. This site is the antidote: I write when something is worth writing, and don’t when it isn’t.

The guitar I play is a Martin. I’ve been at it for years and have progressed in a way that can only be described as committed mediocrity. The listening is considerably better than the playing. The Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, Gillian Welch, Marty Stuart, the occasional descent into modal jazz — I’m not curating a taste, I’m just following the thread.

I take photographs mostly in Vietnam, mostly in the morning, mostly by accident. Street photography, in the sense that I’m out on streets, rather than in the sense that I know what I’m doing.

Building with Claude has been the most genuinely interesting thing I’ve done with a computer in years. Not as a developer — I’m not one — but as someone who found the tools and went as deep as curiosity allowed.
